The CardExchange® Print Server is a console-like application that is responsible for the actual printing. Typically, there will be one Print Server for each printer and the Print Server will run on the computer where the printer has been installed. Basically there a no limitations regarding the amount of Print Servers that can run on one computer, but we advice, especially in combination with encoding, not to combine more than 4 printers on one computer system. The Print Server can receive commands directly from the CardExchange® Print Client as well from the Dispatcher.

Because every printer has it's own tolerances, the Print Server offers functionality to make adjustments to the printer settings. When the Print Server is started, it will try to register itself to the available Dispatcher and if not available, it runs stand-alone and can receive the commands directly from the Client.
