Amsterdam, February 27, 2012 - CardExchange® 6.5 Update Released

 

Today we release CardExchange® version 6.5! This new release contains several bug fixes, improvements, and we support a new printer. With the release of CardExchange® 6.5 we now also support the Datatcard SR series. Together with the latest embedded SD series, we now support the complete new line of Datacard. Be aware that we do not support the Datacard SP series for inline contactless encoding, only for printing!

 

For the latest embedded SR series we improved the behaivor of the inline contactless encoding. Now it is not needed anymore to set the time delays for these Datacard printers. It is now controlled via the Datacard driver.

We solved the problem with printing to non ID card printers, like label printers, that were giving the message that Contactless encoding is not supported. Also solved is the problem sending as bitmap when printing to an Fargo HDP600 printer. Also the scalling problem with some bitmap photos in the ImageExchange® Editor is solved.

Most important is the improved handling of the Metadata of CardExchange®. The Metadate is located in the Data folder of CardExchange® and contains all the card configuration information. When using the Metadata on a network or when changing from a user, it could gets corrupted. The improvements made to this mechanism made us releasing a minor release. Therefore make sure that you make a copy of your Data folder before installing this update. 

This Release 6.5 is FREE for all CardExchange® 6 users and is available in our Download section. CardExchange® 6.3 and higher users will be automatically notified about this update via CardExchange®.
